Men’s Fashion Trends Spring/Summer 2017

It’s spring and summer is fast approaching so we thought we would give you a hand knowing what is hot this summer when it comes to fashion.

Camouflage
This military print remains a consistent part of the wardrobe heading into summer with the support of green seemingly becoming 2017’s colour of choice. Camo is a strong theme through many of this season’s collections featuring In Dsquared2’s and Italian tailoring label Botegga Veneta’s spring /summer 17 collections among others.

Looser suits
With designers such as Demna Gvasalia from Balenciaga and many others supporting this dynamic change in tailoring, looser suits are gaining popularity and are hitting their peak this spring and will continue to grow into summer. Looser and more relaxed this suit trend will let you breath this summer whilst maintaining the professional look you strive to achieve for the office and social functions.

Shirts
Following on from the trend of looser silhouettes wide collared shirts are very much in fashion this season. People are striving for less restrictive clothing and are turning away from the high-rise t-shirts and skinny jeans that have held strong at the top of fashion for a while. Wide collared shirts are a must for your wardrobe this coming summer.

Wide leg trousers
Continuing the trend of less restrictive clothing further, wide leg trousers are making a strong resurgence from a safe bet to a must wear item this season. Wide leg trousers have been a staple part of every man’s wardrobe for a long time and are now moving up the ranks towards this season’s ideal choice for leg wear. They are smart and accompany a nice shirt well whilst they can also be toned down with a casual pairing of a t-shirt and trainers.

Pastels
Pastels are a popular colour choice this season with one tone plain tees being at the forefront of this trend. Pastels do not do well in a head to toe approach but a singular pastel item such as a t-shirt is a fashionable look. Pastels are a little more selective than earthy tones so its best that fair skinned people avoid them, at least until they catch their summer time tan.

Tonal
If pastels are not a great choice for you this season a head to toe tonal look is also a great option. We have all seen the all black but this season is calling for something a little different such as all grey or navy. Using contrasting tones of these colours looks great with a navy suit and a t-shirt in a contrasting shade of navy being a particularly good way to pull of this toning look.

Beard
Of course, no seasonal fashion guide is complete without a look at the in-style beards. This spring has seen an increase in people recreating celebrity beards with Robert Downey Jr. and Leonardo De Caprio’s facial hair receiving a lot of appreciation. Taking on Downey’s facial hair is very doable and it looks great but only some face shapes can pull it off. The safer option is to recreate De Caprio’s extended goatee. As well as these two iconic facial hair options this spring and summer is the ideal time to wear a circle beard. Best known as a standard bear it is an easy to maintain option. You can keep it in shape with ease (as long as you have your beard grooming essentials) as well as maintaining a beard whilst not having to deal with a fully-grown behemoth in the heat of the summer.

Now you are fully aware of what you need to stay fashionable this season. All that remains to do is re-fill your wardrobe with this seasons trending fashions and your bathroom with beard grooming essentials such as beard oil and beard balm to make sure you can pull off the facial hair this season is looking for.
